If you haven’t heard of Sigenergy yet, don’t worry you’re not alone. But as of March 2025, this new kid on the block just took the top spot in Australia’s solar battery market.
And PSC Energy is installing it.
According to the latest report from SunWiz, Sigenergy held the largest share of all solar batteries sold that month. Based on something called “blended capacity” (which includes both what’s sold and what’s installed), Sigenergy captured 17.4% of the Australian market. That put them ahead of Sungrow (17.1%), Alpha ESS (15.2%), and even Tesla.
That’s a big deal, especially considering how new Sigenergy is in Australia.
It’s not just a one-off, either. Back in February, Sigenergy took home a Silver Award from SolarQuotes, ranking them among the top three batteries in the country for 2025. SolarQuotes is one of the most trusted names in the industry, so the recognition carries weight.
Sigenergy’s popularity in Australia is part of something bigger. Globally, they’ve already started making waves. Research from Frost & Sullivan showed Sigenergy shipped 231 megawatt-hours (MWh) worth of energy storage systems between January and September 2024. That gave them a 24.3% share of the stackable, all-in-one battery category worldwide.
That same report ranked them third globally in the broader category of all-in-one systems (which includes every type of battery you can think of). Not bad for a company that’s just starting to turn heads in our part of the world.
So why are they rising so fast?
Because their product is different.
And at PSC Energy, we believe in it because we’ve seen the difference it makes in Australian homes.

Why Australian Homeowners Are Paying Attention to Sigenergy SigenStor
Sigenergy’s battery, SigenStor, isn’t just another black box on the wall. It’s smart, stackable, and packed with technology you won’t find in other batteries.
Here’s what makes it stand out:
All-in-One System Sigenergy has taken an innovative approach by packing everything you need into one sleek tower. Each SigenStor unit has a built-in solar inverter, battery, full backup capability, an EV charger option, and an easy-to-use monitoring app.
That means fewer separate devices bolted to your wall and fewer cables running everywhere. Everything is designed to work together right out of the box, giving you a cleaner setup and a more reliable system overall.
True Three-Phase Backup If your home runs on three-phase power, you’ll want a battery that can keep up. That’s where Sigenergy really shines. Unlike the Tesla Powerwall 3 and other batteries in its class—which can only back up one phase during a blackout—Sigenergy gives you true three-phase backup.
That means all your circuits stay powered, not just the fridge and a few lights. It’s a huge advantage for homes with big, complex loads like ducted air conditioning, large hot water systems, or EV chargers spread across different phases. Everything stays on, and everything stays balanced.
Stackable Storage The SigenStor system is built to grow with your needs. You can start small with just one 8kWh battery, which is perfect for a typical home.
As your energy needs change, you can stack more batteries onto the same tower, up to 48kWh total. And if you need even more storage, you can add extra towers to create a setup big enough for commercial-scale energy needs.
It’s flexible, future-proof, and ready to scale whenever you are.
High Power Output One of the standout features of SigenStor is its power output. It can deliver up to 25kW of continuous power depending on which inverter model you choose.
That’s more than what you get from a Tesla Powerwall 3, and it means you won’t have to pick and choose which appliances to keep on during a blackout. You can run energy-hungry appliances like ducted air conditioning and pool pumps or even charge an EV.
It’s ideal for homes with significant energy needs or anyone who wants peace of mind when the grid goes down.
Software The Sigenergy app stands out because it’s designed with regular people in mind, not tech pros. It’s clean and easy to navigate, so you’re not getting lost in endless settings or confusing graphs. Everything you need is front and centre.
What sets it apart, though, is the built-in AI chatbot. You can ask it practical questions like “Why didn’t my battery charge much today?” or “How much solar did I use this week?”—and it gives you clear answers in plain English.
No need to scroll through technical menus or Google what half the terms mean. It feels more like having a helpful energy coach in your pocket.
Fast EV Charging If you’re planning to charge an electric car at home, Sigenergy has an optional EV charger. Their 25kW DC charger connects directly to the SigenStor battery and lets you fast-charge your EV using your own stored solar energy.
That means you can quickly fill up your car’s battery without touching the grid or buying extra charging gear. Most home battery systems can’t do this on their own. They need a separate inverter or charger to make it happen.
Outdoor-rated Australia throws all kinds of weather at your home: scorching heat, freezing mornings, and storms that come out of nowhere. The SigenStor weathers it all. Pun intended.
It’s built to handle temperatures from –25°C up to 60°C, so it keeps working whether you’re in the Snowy Mountains or the outback sun.
It’s rated IP65 for weatherproofing, which means rain, dust, and wild weather won’t bother it. You can install it outside with confidence.
It’s not perfect. Sigenergy is still a relatively new player in Australia, and we haven’t seen how these units have performed over a decade, as we have with Tesla and Enphase. However, early signs are promising, and the global momentum is hard to ignore.
